Weather Retorts

This group of poems is about the weather and/or the seasons that rule it.

Rain Delay

April days like this tempt me to
suppose the Weather guy is paying

Attention to me, who knows how I disdain
rain during ball gamesunless the game is
without grownups, umps, refs, or other buzz-kill.

While it rains, games kids like us play
are most fun when we fall soft, in mud.
