Weather Retorts

This group of poems is about the weather and/or the seasons that rule it.

We Know Breeze

Words don’t fall like days do,
they won’t drop onto a page the way
Wednesday spreads across acres of August,

To glisten grass while afternoon pivots to evening.

Even though it’s too hot for sex now,
we know breeze rises an hour west, ample
time to carry our sighs to sea tonight.
