Facade of Arrogance

Over an essential humility
was facade of arrogance,
transparent to the stalwart,

Yet troublesome to the feckless,
who shuffle along, their
timidity betrayed by scowls.

It was a time-saving ruse that
allowed for countless good deeds
during his scant allotment.
