Wiseguys are the New Wranglers

Why take a bite when the whole apple grows for you?
Why settle for what falls from trees when life is an orchard in bloom?

Bogeymen of both sexes vex us, corral us, they pinch until we scream.
Once heard, they herd us into quiet rooms to quiet us with talk, or pills, or both.

O America, eternally wild and west, land of unbound plain, of prairie so vast that avarice and fear invented barbed wire and the telegraph.

O America, into which pigeonhole fits the screaming eagle? What’s on TV tonight, anything worth writing home about?
