Mutual of Idaho’s Ivory Tower Power Hour

There’s no demand for poetry from people
who permit meretricious marketers to sink
teeth through thin screens into soft brains.

Such people who would permit the steady
rise in popularity of death by smoking, because
it kept TV free, enslaved themselves, and now

Believe the anti-social lies truth social sends
through their device-pinned eyes to land on
screen-thin minds, awash in hollow words.

Once houses of knowledge and homes
to learned, honest pilgrims of real truth, now
the Ivory Tower is owned by the meretricious,
who use it to turn ploughshares into swords.
