No matter what disturbance,
annoyance, or tragedy awaited
my Mother, she always was ready
to face it. That my Mother accepted,
and endured, and pulled through all those
challenges, was testament to her Faith.
Well – sure it was a Faith thing,
but Faith is faceless and everybody
has it to some degree or another.
But few ever have faced up to challenges
with the grace, the spirit, the courage, and
the humour that were the hallmarks of
my Mother’s life.
Mom’s life was triumphant
because she remained ever faithful
to a few simple rules of behavior and decorum.
Now, I never quite got around to jotting down
all those rules, so I’ll be counting on your help
with them as we carry on from here.
One adage I know Mom had faith in, was:
“The family that prays together, stays together.”
And so, Let us pray.
